HOW TO MAKE A FELT BOARD FUN BOX KIT
PART ONE – FELT BOARD PIECES
STEP ONE
- Print out your clipart. You can download the sets I have used right here. These are free for your personal use only. OR you can use your own clipart.
STEP TWO
Laminate your sheet of clipart. I LOVE my laminator. As a homeschool mom, I seriously use it for so many things! And they are surprisingly cheaper than you might think. This one right here AmazonBasics Thermal Laminator is on sale for $18.70! With regular price only being $21.99! Great price!
You can also try self laminating sheets like these here:
Avery Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets . However, I used my laminator, I did not use self adhesive Laminating Sheets.
STEP THREE
Once your clipart is laminated, you will want to cut out each piece of clipart. I cut around the outside of each image, I did not try to cut on the line of each image.
STEP FOUR
Cut out small pieces of felt to go on the back of each piece of clipart.
Use a hot glue gun and glue one piece of felt on the back of each laminated clipart piece. They should look something like this when you are finished.
Your fun felt board pieces are finished! To test them out, you can tack your 9×12 piece of felt to the wall or a board and stick your felt pieces on. Like this picture here.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FELT PIECE ENVELOPES
Each set of felt pieces will have their own envelope. For this you will need the colorful Cardstock and the title at the bottom of each clipart set. Or you can write your own title on a piece of paper. You will also need your laminator and a tiny bit of glue.
I tried to make this as detailed as possible. Its really very easy!
STEP ONE
Place two pieces of cardstock together. Measure out the width of your container and cut the paper vertically so that your cardstock is the right width for your container. It should still be 11 inches long.
STEP TWO
Starting from the bottom of your cardstock, measure or eyeball the height that you want your envelope to be. And with a tiny bit of glue or a piece of double sided tape, stick your title in the center of your soon to be envelope. It should be something like this. This will make two envelopes. Make sure your title is the right side up before laminating. The Cut like in the photo will be the TOP of each envelope.
STEP THREE
Keep your cardstock together and laminate your two pieces of cardstock. You will put both pieces of cardstock together and laminate them in one lamination sheet.
STEP FOUR
After you are done laminating , cut around the edge of your paper leaving a little laminating paper around the outside. Like this.
STEP FIVE
Now, cut a horizontal line above each title where you decided the height of the envelope. This will break the lamination seal and create an envelope like this one.
That’s it! Your all finished! Now you can place your felt pieces inside your envelopes/pockets. Put them inside your container along with a rolled up piece of 9×12 felt. This creates a great activity or gift for any toddler. Lots of fun! My two year old loves them!
I do not recommend including tacks in this, but you could include pieces of sticky square Velcro pieces like these, for placing the 9×12 felt piece onto a wall.
If you decide to make these, leave me a comment below! I would love to see your finished project!
