HI, I am so excited that you’re here! If you’re looking for Jamestown activities for your students then you will love this lesson plan! I’m so excited to share it with you!
This year, we are going to be studying American History in our homeschool. My husband who knows way more about history than I do, told me to start with Jamestown. So that’s what I’m doing!
I spent hours putting this Jamestown history unit together and I will personally be using it with my boys this year. I’m also in the process of working on other history units so please make sure you check back!
Why am I spending days and hours working on this and giving it away for free?
Well, because I want homeschool to be affordable for you! I want you to have good quality content for your kids. And I need it for mine too! 😉
Alright, let’s get started!
FREE JAMESTOWN HISTORY LESSON FOR KIDS
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS FREE JAMESTOWN HISTORY UNIT
- This is full lesson plan, you will not need any extra books or anything. Unless you just want to, but you won’t need it.
- This unit is designed for completing history two days a week and will be completed in one month. (If you don’t complete it in a month that’s fine!)
- All of my units are designed with children in mind. I personally watched about 50 videos until I found ones that I felt were suitable for kids. (let’s just say, I know a lot about Jamestown now!)
- The lessons are simple but full of information.
- Your kids will be watching a few short videos, coloring, cutting, gluing and most importantly having fun learning history!
- If you stick around by the end of the school year, your kids will have a notebook/binder full of awesome American History facts!
WHAT DOES THIS UNIT COVER?
This months unit is all about Jamestown. Your kids will learn:
- What is Jamestown?
- When did the settlers come to America?
- Why did the settlers come to America and where did the settlers come from?
- Why is it called Jamestown?
- How did they get to America?
- What happened to the settlers after they got to America?
- Who is John Smith?
- Who is John Rolfe?
- Who is the Powhatan?
- What made Jamestown a success?
Full of lots of information!
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
- You will need a 1 inch 3 ring binder. If you have multiple kids here is a pack of 4 binders that will work great!
- Scissors
- Elmer’s Disappearing Purple Glue Sticks
- Crayola Crayons or coloring pencils
- Paper for your binder. I am using this paper here in the photos. I like it because its plain, colored and already hole punched!
- The worksheets provided printed out.
HERES A PEEK AT WHAT’S INSIDE
7 Days worth of interactive worksheets and a lesson plan to follow with clickable links to videos!
Students will read, color, cut and paste information and pictures into their History Binders.
They will even get to design their own settlement!
Keep worksheets and lesson plan in the pocket of your student’s binder.
Pretty awesome right? I’m so excited to use this with my boys and even more excited for you to use it! This is going to be a great year for homeschool!

This has been such a great blessing to find this material. We bought a curriculum and it isn’t as engaging as I hoped. This is the perfect compliment to bring the facts to life!
Thank you so much! ❤
