If you go to the Nike store or Belks and buy an $80 pair of shoes for yourself or your kids, then you may not be on the right budget. Thinking about having to purchase a pair of shoes at full price makes me cringe! Seriously, have you seen the price of name brand shoes just for toddlers? I personally think it would be silly to pay $30 or more for a pair of shoes for a toddler? Maybe that’s just me, but they grow way too fast! If you have kids you know exactly what I mean!
I have five boys, so I have done my homework on where to purchase shoes that are decent and will keep them up to style with the latest brands. My teens are really the ones who want a certain brand! The toddler, he would be happy going shoeless all day!
Me? Well, I probably own more shoes than I should. But at least I didn’t pay full price for them. 🙂
The list below includes places I have personally found name brand shoes for my kids and for myself. I never pay full price, ever. And you shouldn’t either.
HERE’S WHERE TO FIND NAME BRAND SHOES WITHOUT PAYING FULL PRICE

Thrift Stores
Yes, I know, some people swear they will never shop at a thrift store. If this is you, you must learn that it is ok to shop at the thrift store. I am not saying you should go in there and buy your kids the first pair of shoes you see in their size. You will find some shoes that are totally worn out and should make their way to the trash. Don’t buy those, you can also find shoes that are practically brand new! My 9-year-old is currently wearing a pair of Nike High Tops that I purchased at the thrift store for $3.00. Yes, $3.00 and they were practically brand new! All of my Nike Work out shoes and boots, I purchased at the Thrift store. My favorite pair of Candie’s boots, I purchased them brand new at the thrift store for $10! Unless someone reads this post, they would never even know!

Shop the clearance racks at The Ross, Marshalls, and TjMax
My 15-year-old literally wears a 12 1/2! He is probably the hardest one to shop for. If he is in need of shoes, I normally check these stores and check the clearance rack. Yes, they have a clearance rack! I have found some very nice shoes this way at a fraction of the cost.

Kohls
While I don’t feel like Kohls is the cheapest place to shop, they do have clearance racks and a crazy return policy! If you purchase a pair of shoes for yourself or your child and you wear them out, you can return them in exchange for another pair of the same brand and size. You can do this with or without the receipt! There is also no time limit. Yes, it seems crazy, but its true. This also applies to clothes! You can shop Kohls through Ebates online to maximize your savings.
